Tokoroa
is the hub of New Zealand's massive forestry, timber and pulp
and paper industries, located half-way between Hamilton and
Taupo on State Highway 1. The town takes its name after the
Maori chief,"Tokoroa" who was killed as he led his
people gallantly against the british in the mid 1800s.
Our
area streches south to the village of Atiamuri, half way between
Tokoroa and Taupo. North to Lichfield, East to upper Atiamuri,
and West to the top of No 7 hill in between Tokoroa and Mangakino.
We have a good working relationship with our neighbouring
brigades, and have been known to, on occassion, have the odd
refreshment with them as well.
